Aurelia’s operator training and certification scheme is simple, straightforward and yet comprehensive. It meets the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act and can be carried out either on site or at our training centre. It is ideal for operators who work on one site only such as factories, warehouses, transfer stations, landfill sites, gravel pits and quarries etc.

Training and assessments can be carried out either on site or at our training centre. Since NPORS was formed 1992 it has worked hard to ensure that appropriate training and assessments are being delivered to employers in the construction, utilities, distribution and warehousing, ports and marine, rail and agricultural sectors. NPORS have currently registered over 160,000 operators who have been employed across all UK industry sectors. The Health & Safety Executive recognise NPORS training providers as competent to train, test and certificate operators.

The main objective of NPORS is to allow accredited training providers a flexible approach to meet the needs of the employer and to help and assist in providing an adequately trained workforce across the UK.

The NPORS operator registration card is produced for an individual who has successfully completed practical and knowledge assessments on the categories shown on the back of the card. This shows that they have achieved a level of competence to operate the item on the card. Where the individual has successfully attended a NPORS recognised health and safety course this can also be added to the back of the card.

CPCS

CPCS Logo

Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is a card scheme to prove the skills of plant operators. It is the largest and most highly recognised card scheme for the plant industry. It helps to prove workers operating skills and health and safety awareness. The CPCS scheme provides a single skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry and should be accepted on all UK construction sites.

HOW TO ACQUIRE A CPCS CARD

To acquire a CPCS qualification the candidate must have passed a Health & Safety touch screen test within the passed two years. Call 01638 751492 to book.

The next stage is a theory test which consists of about 60 questions which are asked verbally by an examiner, this process normally takes between 1 and 11/2 hours and must be carried out at our test centre. There is a separate theory test for each category of plant. After successful completion of the theory test the candidate must then pass a practical test which takes between 1 and 3 hours depending on the category of plant. This test must also be taken at our test centre. Once the candidate has passed the practical test they are issued with a Red CPCS Trained Operator Card
which lasts for a maximum of 2 years. During this period the candidate must achieve an NVQ to convert the red card to a Blue CPCS Competent Operator Card.

Aurelia can carry out any training required from complete beginners to refresher sessions for experienced operators.
