CSCS and CPCS Health & Safety Testing
The aim of the test is to examine knowledge across a wide range of Health & Safety topics in order to improve safety and productivity on site. It is a PC based touch screen multi choice test and can be taken at our Training Centre in Kentford near Newmarket, Suffolk.
Everyone applying for a CSCS or CPCS card must pass the appropriate Health & Safety test as well as prove their competence so that they can be issued with the card they are applying for.
Types of Test
The type of card being applied for will determine the test that needs to be taken – the available tests are:
- Operative (including CPCS Plant Operators)
- Supervisors
- Managerial & Professional Health & Safety Test
- Domestic Heating & Plumbing Services (HVACR)
- Ductwork (HVACR)
- Highways
- Lift & Escalator
- National Demolition Training Group (NDTG)
- Pipefitting / Welding
- Plumbing or Gas
- Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (HVACR)
- Service & Facilities (HVACR)
- Working at Heights

If the person who will be taking the test needs additional support e.g. accessibility or literacy please advise us when making your booking.
We can send out the Health & Safety test revision book which contains all the questions and answers that will be asked. Pre-test training can also be carried out at our centre if requested.
